Veterinary rip-off

At my last medical appointment, mom had my toenails trimmed, as I can get fidgety.  They did a great job holding me.. I didn't get mad at all.   So mom scheduled both of us to get our nails done there.  There's a very nice lady that is easily frightened when I grumble; she works at a local pet store, and charges just $7 each.  But we didn't want to scare her, so we went to the vet for a mani-pedi.  After all, last time it was $12.50, which is more than the nice lady, but oh well.  So we went this morning...and after our nails were done, mom was told, "That will be $50 plus tax."  Mom almost fell on the floor. The girl who works there said it is $12.50 when you already have an appointment with the doctor.  So when you go in before the office opens, and never see a doctor, you pay DOUBLE the price.  After all, you walked in the door.  Well...you can imagine the words swirling around the car on the ride home.  B****rds. Unprofessional.  Rip off.  How could they?  Some F- Sh- D words.  Need a new vet.  $50 could get a full groom.  I'll do it myself (my least favorite.).  Well, hope you all had a better day than us!  Hope you all love your vets!  Hugs!

Grooming: What Is It Good For?

Grooming. Practically an everyday occurrence in the life of a Westie.  Who benefits more, me or my human? It's super humid out there, and ok, I've got a few mats on my belly.  Human mom brushes me daily, but I am protective of my belly. Keep out! Unless I am in the zzzZone, let me be! When I sleep I give you my belly to rub. I digress.  So down to the basement I just went, despite my best efforts to hide.  I was nice and fluffy at my elbows..apparently that's a no-no.   Mom went at it with several instruments straight out of a scary movie.  Once I was old enough to realize when I don't sit still, she can't do so much, I squirm every time. Haha!  Then I just went out to take a you-know and...ok, ok, I get all goofy when I am done getting fixed up.  Ok, so I show off a bit. Is that bad?

Fun times

Fun times this weekend at the NJ specialty show! Omg saw such beautiful dogs! Gorgeous Westies ( but mom Beanie beats them all hands down)...and I saw a brindle Scotty, stunning Samoyed in a stroller (I want one), Shelties, Labs, Poodles, and more! Mom had fun too.  We met other Westie lovers, and one family ready to get a Westie of their own! I had so many kids play with me I was in heaven.  See y'all next year!
